What Is Pediatric Care?
Pediatric care focuses on the physical, emotional, and developmental health of children from birth through adolescence. Because children’s bodies and minds are constantly growing, they require healthcare that is uniquely tailored to each stage of development. Providers monitor growth patterns, ensure children meet important milestones, identify potential concerns early, and support parents with guidance on nutrition, sleep, behavior, and safety.
Pediatric care blends preventive medicine with comprehensive family-centered support. It includes routine checkups, immunizations, screenings, sick visits, and ongoing monitoring of chronic or developing conditions. For many families, a provider becomes a trusted partner as they navigate childhood illnesses, developmental questions, and long-term health planning.
At Mercy Wellness Clinic, our pediatric team is committed to helping children build a strong foundation for lifelong health. We believe in early detection, personalized guidance, and open communication with parents. Our providers take time to ensure that every child feels comfortable and that caregivers feel supported, informed, and empowered at every visit.
Our Pediatric Care Services
Mercy Wellness Clinic offers a full range of pediatric services designed to support your child from infancy through the teenage years. Each service focuses on prevention, early identification, long-term health, and the specific needs of growing bodies and minds.
Well-Child Visits
Well-child visits are essential for monitoring growth and development, identifying health concerns early, and ensuring your child is thriving physically and emotionally. These visits follow the recommended schedule from the American Academy of Pediatrics and provide dedicated time to assess progress, address concerns, and review preventive care needs.
These visits allow our providers to build long-term relationships with your child and your family. They also give caregivers the chance to discuss questions about development, behavior, school performance, or any other concerns.
School and Sports Physicals
Whether your child is entering a new school year, joining a sports team, or participating in extracurricular activities, school and sports physicals ensure that they are healthy and ready to participate safely.
Physicals help protect your child’s safety and ensure they are prepared for the physical demands of school and sports activities.
Developmental and Behavioral Screenings
Developmental screenings help identify early signs of speech delays, motor delays, social challenges, or behavioral concerns. Early identification allows for timely intervention, which greatly improves long-term outcomes.
If additional support is needed, our team can recommend specialized evaluations or therapies.
Adolescent Care
As children grow into teenagers, their healthcare needs evolve. Adolescents require guidance and medical support tailored to their stage of life. Our providers create a safe, confidential environment for teens to discuss health questions and concerns.
Our goal is to help teenagers build healthy habits and feel supported as they transition toward adulthood.
Immunizations
Vaccinations protect children from serious illnesses and help build immunity throughout childhood. Mercy Wellness Clinic follows vaccine schedules recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Our providers discuss each vaccine with parents, review benefits and recommendations, and answer any questions you may have so you feel informed and confident in your child’s care.
Same-Day Urgent Care and Telemedicine Sick Visits
Illnesses often appear without warning, and parents need quick access to care when children are not feeling well. Mercy Wellness Clinic offers same-day sick visits at our urgent care and telemedicine service for common childhood illnesses and minor injuries.
Same-day appointments help provide fast relief and peace of mind while preventing minor issues from becoming more serious.
Care for Babies, Toddlers, and Young Children
The early years of childhood bring rapid growth, constant change, and important developmental milestones. Mercy Wellness Clinic provides supportive, family-centered care for babies, toddlers, and young children, focusing on nutrition, development, safety, and preventive health. Our goal is to help parents navigate each stage with confidence while ensuring children build a strong foundation for long-term wellness.
These visits give families dedicated time to review progress, ask questions, and discuss any concerns about growth, development, or day-to-day health. Our providers are here to support your child’s needs as they move from infancy into early childhood.

Same-Day Telemedicine Appointments Available
Mercy Wellness Clinic offers same-day telemedicine visits when your child needs care quickly or when an in-person appointment is not possible. Telemedicine is ideal for certain follow-up visits, medication checks, and minor illnesses.

FAQs
You might have questions about how often your child should be seen, how school paperwork is handled, or whether your family can keep the same provider over time. These common questions and answers can help you understand what to expect from pediatric care at Mercy Wellness Clinic. If you do not see your question here, please contact our office and our team will be glad to help.
1 / How often should my child have a checkup?
In the first years of life, visits are more frequent to monitor growth and development. After that, most children benefit from a yearly well-child visit. During these appointments we review milestones, update vaccines, and address any questions or concerns you may have.
2 / Can you complete school and sports physical forms?
Yes. We provide school and sports physicals and can complete the required forms during your child’s visit. Please bring any paperwork from the school or organization to the appointment so we can make sure all sections are filled out correctly.
3 / Can my child see the same provider at each visit?
Whenever possible, we try to schedule your child with the same provider to support continuity of care. Seeing the same provider helps build trust, ensures a better understanding of your child’s health history, and allows for more personalized recommendations over time.
