Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Our Alamo Ranch Clinic
Mercy Wellness Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team at our Alamo Ranch location. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive primary care services across diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. You will support preventive care, acute and chronic disease management, and patient education through both in-person care and telehealth.

Position Overview
Job title: Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
Location: Alamo Ranch, TX
Work setting: In person
Schedule: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
As a Family Nurse Practitioner at Mercy Wellness Clinic, you will:

Conduct comprehensive physical exams and patient assessments to determine health status and develop treatment plans

Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions using evidence-based protocols, including urgent care scenarios as needed

Perform procedures and in-office treatments, including injections, suturing, and related clinical tasks

Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently using Athenahealth (EMR/EHR)
-
Coordinate care through referrals, case management, discharge planning, and collaboration with specialists (cardiology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, behavioral health, and more)

Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care

Educate patients on prevention, medications, nutrition, and lifestyle changes

Support compliance and best practices, including privacy and HIPAA standards
Required Qualifications

Active state licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner

Board certification through an accredited certifying body (ANCC or AANP)

Experience in primary care, including strong documentation practices and familiarity with CPT coding
-
Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques

Strong clinical judgment and patient communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse patient populations
Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing complex cases involving geriatrics, pediatrics, infectious disease, post-acute care, hospice and palliative medicine, and acute pain management

Experience with telehealth

Familiarity with Athenahealth or similar EMR/EHR systems

Ability to perform clinical procedures such as venipuncture, phlebotomy, sterile technique for suturing, and related clinical processes

Critical care experience (preferred)
